A lead valley between two roof slopes

Chimney repairs and leadwork in Swansea, Neath & Llanelli

Chimneys take the worst of the weather. When the pointing crumbles, a pot works loose or the lead flashing lifts, water gets in where the chimney meets the roof. Sammy re-points, re-beds pots, renews flashing and seals lead valleys.

Signs your chimney needs work

A damp patch on the chimney breast inside, or on the ceiling next to it. Mortar crumbling out of the joints. A pot that leans. Lead around the base of the chimney that has lifted or split. Bits of mortar in the gutter.

A chimney that is left too long can become dangerous, so it's worth getting it checked as soon as you notice any of these.

“The guys were amazing, they worked so hard and efficiently. They replaced our whole roof, gutters, fascia's and took down our chimney and replaced all the rotten timbers. It was a bigger job than originally thought but Sammy was amazing from beginning to end with kept us update with everything and sorted any bumps in the road. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking to get their roof replaced or needs anything fixed.”

“Had a leak coming through bedroom ceiling Tuesday morning at 3:30 am Called them 9:30 am They were over by 10:30 to have a look and give an estimate. Arrived this morning Wednesday 8:30 to put scaffolding up. Work finished by about 2 PM. Kept me updated with photos of the progress they were making. And the things they found. Will call first if I have any future work needs doing, and would definitely recommend.”

Questions people ask

Why is my chimney breast damp?

Usually rain is getting in at the top or where the chimney meets the roof: worn pointing, lifted lead flashing, or an open pot with no cowl. Sammy checks each of these at the visit and tells you which one it is.

Can you remove a chimney I don't use?

Yes. We take chimneys down and make good the roof where it stood.

Do you fit chimney cowls?

Yes. A cowl keeps rain and birds out of a pot you no longer use.
