Why gutters overflow

Most of the time they're blocked with moss and leaves, a bracket has given way, or a joint has opened up. Sometimes the gutter was fitted with too little fall, so water sits in it. Sammy finds out which before suggesting new gutters: a clean and seal is often enough.

Doing the roof as well?

If the fascia boards behind the gutters are rotten, it's worth doing both together while the scaffolding is up. We often fit new fascias and gutters as part of a new roof.

Questions people ask

Do I need new gutters or just a clean?

Often just a clean and the joints sealed. Sammy looks first and tells you honestly if new ones are needed.

Should I replace fascias and soffits at the same time?

If the boards behind the gutters are rotten, yes. New uPVC fascias and soffits don't need painting.

Do you do gutter repairs on their own?

Yes. One customer in Newport had an overflowing gutter fixed with, in their words, "the minimum of fuss".
